Camp Scholarship Application

The Camp-Shannon Leigh Gaffney Scholarship Fund is proud to accept applications for our scholarship awards. We will be awarding three $1,000 scholarships to assist in the educational pursuits of past campers.

This fund was established in memory of Shannon Leigh Gaffney.  Shannon was a camper and counselor for eight summers at Hermann Sons Life Camp. Although taken from her family and friends too soon, her memory and enthusiasm for Camp lives on through this scholarship program.

To apply, you must be a graduating senior, a past Hermann Sons Life camper, a current Hermann Sons Life member with premiums and local lodge dues paid current and meet application fulfillment requirements.

Please complete the application in its entirety. Any application information or additional requirements omitted could disqualify the applicant. The full application and all of the required uploads must be submitted by March 1.

The award will include $1,000 for the fall semester immediately following high school graduation.  The award recipient must notify Hermann Sons Life Camp and submit proof of fall semester enrollment as a full-time student (12 semester hours minimum) at an accredited university/college or approved trade school to qualify for the scholarship. A check will then be issued to the institute of higher learning within 30 days and may be used toward the payment of tuition and fees required for enrollment at an educational organization and for required books, supplies and equipment.  The scholarship board reserves the right to offer extensions for illness or other unforeseen circumstances.

If you have questions about the application or guidelines, please contact us. We wish you luck in applying for this scholarship.

The official name of this Fund is the Hermann Sons Youth Camp Scholarship Fund, Inc.
