This application is for individuals who are applying to attend the Hermann Sons Life Grief Support Camp Sept. 5-7, 2020, Labor Day weekend. In order to register, campers must be between the ages of 10-16 as of Sept. 1, 2020.

By completing this application, you authorize that the camper listed on the application has permission to attend Hermann Sons Life Camp and participate in all Camp activities. Through registration, you give Hermann Sons Life Camp full rights and permission with respect to any photographs, video and audio recordings taken during the Camp session. These images may be used for publicity (newspaper, website, brochures, commercials, etc.). You further give permission and consent that any such photographs may be published and used by Hermann Sons Life and the American Camp Association® and its agents, to illustrate and promote the camp experience, Hermann Sons Life and its Camp programs, the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas or the American Camp Association.

Hermann Sons Life Camp is a traditional sleep-away camp where participants need to be able to move around freely to participate in programs and to eat meals prepared in our kitchens. Participants must also be able to effectively interact in group elements. During the Grief Support Session, campers will participate in a mix of traditional camp activities and therapeutic healing circles. Hermann Sons Life Camp has contracted therapists and staff from the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas to lead therapeutic activities and to be present throughout the session.

Hermann Sons Life Camp has medical staff on site but is not designed to care for all pre-existing specialized medical needs. To help determine if Hermann Sons Life Camp is a good match for your child, please contact Executive Camp Director Ian Brassett at 830-995-3223. At the discretion of Camp administration, Hermann Sons Life Camp may deny attendance to campers whose health needs cannot best be met by the staff and facilities. Circumstances may change from year to year.

The health management team dispenses medication, treats minor illness and injury and refers patients to appropriate physicians when necessary. A parent or guardian will be notified if a doctor or hospital visit is required, if the camper spends a night in the clinic or for any other medical reason deemed necessary by the health manager. In addition, a parent/guardian will be notified in the event of severe homesickness or for any other reason deemed necessary by the Camp director. You may also receive a phone call from a therapist if it is deemed necessary during your camper's stay at Camp.

This application cannot be submitted without completing all required fields. The application will take 15-20 minutes to complete and will ask for camper information, parent/guardian contact information, emergency contact information and information about the special person your camper lost. Once the application is received, a staff member from the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas will be contacting you to complete an interview about your camper.

Hermann Sons Life is sponsoring the registration fee for all selected participants of this Camp Grief Support Session in Comfort. In order to be considered for admittance to the session, applicants must pay a $50 registration fee.
