My oldest granddaughter, Kennedy, just left Mimi Camp. What is Mimi Camp you ask? Mimi is my wife, Elizabeth, and Camp is a week at our house filled with fun and excitement. Elizabeth and Kennedy look forward to this week each summer. For me it brings back memories of when I would spend time with my grandparents and experience the unique lessons that only a grandparent can teach. These lessons are important to children and help to shape who they will be as adults.

Similarly, the time children spend actively associating with Hermann Sons Life helps them to develop into stronger more confident adults. Whether it is lessons derived from attending Camp, or volunteering with their local lodge, or being an insurance certificate holder; these are experiences that enhance positive development. But, often we focus so much on how Hermann Sons Life benefits our junior members that we fail to emphasize how our junior members give back to Hermann Sons Life.

Just through the purchase of life products for junior members, money is put towards good work done in Texas communities right now. Every time a premium payment is made, the payer of the policy can feel good about what that money goes towards and represents. It represents a desire to give the child a secure financial product; it represents a wish for the junior member to be part of an organization that values community, life and security; it represents old and new family traditions; it represents an opportunity to be part of unique programs like Camp and dance; it represents commitment.

All of our juniors and junior programs add a youthful exuberance to Hermann Sons Life. Their membership and participation now will set the tone for members in the future.

And when these children become adults, I hope they realize how important it is to keep their life policies and look into purchasing additional policies. It is important for their families and it is important for our Hermann Sons Life community. Junior programs receive a huge focus from us because we want children to be an integral part of the Hermann Sons Life community, but it is only by remaining a part of the community and passing on the tradition that these programs and others are possible.

Next summer Kennedy will get to go to Hermann Sons Life-Camp in addition to Mimi Camp. She is already a Shining Star and recently participated in the Family Fun Day at Schlitterbahn. She doesn’t even know it, but her membership is helping do so much good. And she is getting so much out of her membership.
